Together in Golf A Strategic Framework for Equality, Diversity & Inclusion
England Golf passionately believes that golf belongs to everyone. All who play, and all who aspire to play must have the equal opportunity to do so. The England Golf strategic framework for equality, diversity and inclusion is designed to help support the sport of golf and its stakeholders from national bodies to local clubs, to work together and towards a set of common principles aimed at ensuring that everyone to wants to take part in golf has the opportunity to do so
Background
The England Golf Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Framework is built on three key pillars:
- Everyone is treated fairly so they may enjoy all aspects of golf (Equality)
- Everyone is recognised and can see themselves and be seen in golf (Diversity)
- Everyone is welcomes and feels that they belong in golf (Inclusion)
The framework has been developed to allow stakeholders in clubs and counties to work more closely with the national governing body, guided by a set of common principles, to ensure that everyone who wants to participate in golf has the opportunity to do so.
The commitments in the framework are in line with England Golf's four main principles as set out within the 'Course Planner' (strategic direction 2021-2025) and the key pledge to deliver a more inclusive and accessible sport.
The Strategic Framework
The framework is designed to help support clubs and stakeholders to work together towards a common set of principles aimed at ensuring that everyone who wants to take part in golf has the opportunity to do so:
- Principle 1: We lead through strong governance and integrity
- Principle 2: We energise and support the golf community
- Principle 3: We deliver a more inclusive and accessible sport
- Principle 4: We inspire current and future generations
