NZC Women in Cricket Governance Project

This project has changed, and will continue to change, the face and effectiveness of cricket governance in New Zealand.

Starting from a place five years ago, of no influence at any level of governance, females now occupy at least 40% of places on all cricket’s major governance boards and are fully involved in the making of all of cricket’s important strategic decisions. This move towards gender equity had directly led on to a major focus on driving up the overall quality of cricket governance. The conversations being had around cricket’s board tables have changed markedly and for the better. Mindsets have changed and our decision-making reflects this. As a result, cricket in New Zealand has moved much closer to realising our game’s vision ‘A Game For All New Zealanders, A Game For Life’.
